  1. These photo sources are pretty different--except, of course, that they were all taken at the same place. Are you intending to show different aspects of the situation (humor, sincerity, sentimentality)?

I would have to say that my work is an exploration of the the role of artwork as a form of freedom of expression, and how that can address political issues through various means such as humor, sincerity, ect., and how effective each of these means are in getting there message across. I intend for the recent outbreak of freedom of expression at protests in Wisconsin (Madison in particular) to be the unifying feature of the work. However, it could easily be said that the prints are also showing the different aspects of the situation. Although the prints may show different aspects of the situation (in terms of ways people express them selves), I do not intend for the series to focus on both political sides of the situation, rather it will focus on my own position and that of the ACLU with regards to the current political climate and it's effect of freedom of expression. I feel political art is most effective when it has a clear standpoint.
